Table duration
Table duration is the time between a table opening and closing in the POS. It describes recorded table time; it does not measure the exact time guests spent dining.
The interval can include time spent waiting for an order or bill. The POS may send an opening or closing record late, which can make a duration inaccurate. Missing or incomplete table records can also affect the report.
Compare similar tables and service periods. A large table or special booking may take longer than a small, routine visit. Check that the selected dates cover comparable hours before drawing conclusions.
The Tables report shows historical visits and duration for selected dates. Pulse → Live now shows the current floor state, including table names, zones and statuses when the POS provides them. The live view is a current snapshot; it does not replace historical table results.
Table visits and sales depend on POS table data. Table-attributed sales can differ from restaurant-wide sales because they include only sales the POS assigned to tables. See report metrics and investigate missing data.
